Made-to-Measure Pattern Making: Celebrating Body Diversity
Learn how to make tops with funky darts and sleeves that fits you body perfectly.
Every body is unique, yet most clothing is designed around standardised sizes. This workshop introduces made-to-measure pattern making as a way of creating garments that respond to individual bodies rather than requiring bodies to conform to industry norms.
Using your own measurements, you will learn how to draft a fitted dress pattern tailored specifically to you. Along the way, you'll gain practical skills while exploring a more inclusive, comfortable, and sustainable approach to fashion.
By designing from the body outward, we celebrate diversity, individuality, and the idea that every body deserves a great fit.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- How to make a fitted bodice pattern, and fitting adjustments from the toile for a perfect fit.
- How to draft custom-fitted sleeves.
- How to move bodice darts to create different garment styles while preserving fit.
- How to draft facings for a complete, professional pattern set.

- A small group experience (maximum 4 participants).
- Your completed made-to-measure pattern block and updated sample to take home.

Prerequisite: No previous knowledge or experience with sewing required.
