Learn a traditional technique that can create striking modern looks!!!
No prior sewing experience is needed. We will work entirely by hand (no sewing machine).
What you will learn in this workshop:
The history of the smocking textile technique (yes, dresses from the 12th century in Europe used such skills).
A hands on practice where you will be introduced to three different smocking patterns. You will develop skills and create textures on fabric.
You will see several garments and accessories created by Outer using this technique. Some has been in the runways in New York and Milan Fashion Weeks!
Time is provided at the end for Q&A, networking and connections over some refreshments (nibbles and drinks). Please, after booking, send a message to outer@designbyouter.com if you have any dietary requirements.
